Nancy K. Armstrong has, since a youth, been connected to the beauty of her native Idaho. Horse back riding across the sage scented desert where dramatic canyons guard the landscape and along forested mountain trails where peaks of snow promise rivers their fill. The sounds of a sparkling stream tumbling down the mountainside or an Osprey’s call as it soars above, all indulge the senses with lasting inspiration. Early sketches implied her passion to capture and express experiences that would be incorporated into art and design throughout future endeavors.
She creates two art styles. The first is from her signature gallery collection, The Koi Collection. It was inspired by her fascination and love of the Japanese Koi and their environment. An overhead perspective expresses the way she views their grace. Each painting presents elements and reflections that capture the essence of a pond, dynamics of color, light, texture and motion. The second style includes, Little Ones and Their Friends and Images of Play Collections. Little Ones and Their Friends Collection was inspired during her interior design of a children’s hospital. Both collections are inspired by children and their love of playful adventures. They are simple and uncomplicated, focusing on colors, places and things to do that encourage a smile and the imagination of children and adults.
Armstrong’s developing portfolio reflects a lifetime dedicated to art. Her creative history exemplifies passion, joy, imagination, perceptiveness and love of the capture.
